Hello Wilton-Wing Family
As many of you are aware, Miners alum MaKayla Koski has been going through some medical issues related to an infection that developed from a hip replacement this summer. In mid-October, she needed urgent surgery to remove the infected joint. She has a long road ahead of her. Currently she is on strong antibiotics with weekly doctor’s appointments to monitor the infection. After 6 weeks of treatment, she will need to be infection free for at least another 6 weeks before having yet another surgery to replace the temporary hip.
Fortunately, her pain is managed, and she is back at work temporarily. With being back, it is very important that she rests when she gets home each evening so her body can continue to heal, but she is a young teacher with very few days of sick leave and she is going to have to have at least 1 more, maybe 2 surgeries. We would love your help for one of our own with this financial hardship.
On Friday night, December 1, at our first girls basketball home game we will have a fundraiser for MaKayla. We are donating the food concessions money all back to MaKayla. We are also having a bake sale and silent auction. For those that can’t be here to bring food or work, dropping off a bake sale item at the front desk would be great. We will also have a donation basket out for anyone wanting to donate at the game.
