Summer EBT Program
In summer 2024, North Dakota will launch Summer EBT, a new grocery benefits program that provides families $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out. Summer is when many children lose the free and reduced-price meals they get at school and when households might need a little extra help putting meals on the table. Most families will get these benefits automatically, but some parents must apply. The new program is in addition to free meals that kids of all ages can get at summer meal sites in their communities.

Today we celebrate all the library workers who deliver books to patrons who cannot access libraries for one reason or another. Most commonly thought of are the Bookmobiles. But this would also include anyone who delivers to someone who mails books out, or hand delivers to the elderly or someone who does not have transportation to a local library. Thank you for bringing library materials to EVERYONE!

Today we celebrate "Take Action for Libraries Day". Libraries are a great source of all information and also advocate for the education of others. Always educate yourself before you make a decision.

Today we celebrate Drop Everything And Read day, in honor of author Beverly Cleary's birthday. Please make sure you are not holding anything breakable when you decide to "Drop Everything And Read" today!

Today we celebrate and appreciate library workers of all kinds: public, private, university, Native American, school, etc. Without their dedication, we would not have the FREE access to information we enjoy now!

What a great night for our 1st Artist Showcase! Students in grades 5-8 showcased their art they did with Artist in Residence Nicole. Students in Prek-4 showcased art they did in their classroom. Combine that with After School Program Art, Cavern Coffee, live music from our high school students, a dessert bar, Region 8 NDSU Ext. Office, and a visit from our District 8 Legislators; equates to a wonderful evening! Thank you all for stopping by. And a Big thank you to the ND Arts Council and Washburn American Legion for grant funding!

Be sure to stop by the school tonight 5:30 to 7:00 for a fine arts showcase. Coffee, sweets, great artwork and music talents on display!

Great Job Annelise Bates. She qualified for the State Science Fair, which was held in Grand Forks last week. Annelise did a fantastic job representing the Wilton Miners with her project on Equine Leg Protection and the Temperature of the Tendons.
